High-end technology allows high cap MLCC to enter into the cap range of electrolytic caps. MLCCs offer many advantages such as lower ESR, smaller size, better voltage strength, and improved reliability. With Samsung’s current offering, electrolytic capacitors 22 µF and below can generally be replaced. In some cases even capacitance in the 470 µF+ area can also be considered.
