Shown here is the package for each part in the BD9x series and a comparison of other safety features that are available. The majority of the safety features such as over current protection, short circuit protection, temperature shutdown, and under voltage lockout are available in each of these devices. Soft start that helps control the inrush current is also available in each of these devices and in some devices the soft start time is adjustable by capacitor value. The package option in this series includes QFN, SOP-J8, and HTSOP-J8. The HTSOP-J8 package is the same as industry standard SO8 except the addition of the center metal pad, which provides greater heat dissipation at higher load.
