At the heart of the OSD335x C-SiP System-in-Package device is the 1 GHz Arm Cortex-A8 Sitara™ AM335x SOC processor from Texas Instruments. This System-on-Chip includes two 32 kilobyte (kB) L1 caches, 256 kB of L2 cache, 64 kB of dedicated RAM and 64 kB of shared L3 RAM. This multiprocessor SOC also includes 2 Programmable Real-time units or PRUs which provide users with the ability to off load real-time tasks like controlling motors or implementing high speed communication protocols while running applications on the Arm Cortex-A8.
