Configuring the Switch Matrix has been made easy through simplified register operations when engineers prefer manually coding in C language. Also, NXP provides a web-based graphical tool for point-and-click configuration, called the “LPC Initialization and pinmux Tool”. Through an intuitive user interface, the target microcontroller is selected, and the I/O configured through a few simple clicks of the mouse. As an added benefit, source code is generated and can be imported into a software development environment such as NXP’s LPCXpresso IDE, Keil uVision or IAR EWARM.
