LPC15xx is NXP’s latest microcontroller series featuring the I/O Switch Matrix. To augment the Cortex-M3 CPU operating at up to 72 MHz, the device includes advanced peripherals such as two 12-bit/12-channel analog to digital converters, comparators, digital to analog converter, CAN, SPI, UART, I2C, Full-speed USB, quadrature encoder interface, and multiple advanced timer input/output modules. In the block diagram shown on this slide, the blue splashes indicate peripherals with moveable functions. In total, there are seventy-two movable peripheral functions on the LPC1500. The LPC15xx is available in three quad flat-pack package options: 48-pin, 64-pin and 100-pin. Having 72 movable functions also means that these valuable peripherals are not sacrificed when moving from the largest pin count to the smallest pin count. Flexibility is ensured for the end application.
