This slide shows the function level commands for the DS2431 1kb EEPROM. The Master can execute any of the following device function commands in the DS2431. After the first command is issued, Write Scratchpad, the host writes an 8 byte value to the scratchpad. The scratchpad is an intermediate storage buffer that stores data before it is written to the memory block. Read Scratchpad allows a Host to read the contents of the scratchpad. Copy Scratchpad moves the contents of the scratchpad to the memory location specified by host. The Read Memory command allows the Host to read memory contents from the address location specified. The Slave than waits for the next Master initiated reset sequence.
