Shown here are three images showing a typical application of each respective mixer. All three of these mixers are designed for easy use. The small size and passive structure of the MAMX-011021 and MAMX-011022 allows easy placement on any system board. The small size, chip matching, and simple bias of the MAMX-011023 also allows for easy placement on any system board. In the middle column, the MAMX-011022 application schematic shows how the upper and lower sidebands are selected by the mixer and quadrature IF hybrid. IF1 (pin 4) could be called the quadrature port and IF2 (pin 3) could be called the inphase port of the MAMX-011022. This mixer does not require DC biasing, but DC voltage may be applied to the RF pin if kept below 20 V. The column on the right shows a typical application for the MAMX-011023, the low noise active mixer. For best gain the IF port requires 2 to 3 V of bias. The VG port can be set to 0.6 V which will bias the part to approximately 2 mA and allow a minimal LO power to be used. When the LO power is on, the device current will increase to approximately 15 mA.
