The LT3070’s 5A output current makes it ideal for a wide variety of applications including high current/low voltage digital ICs with their high peak load requirements. The low dropout voltage of 85mV @ 5A limits power dissipation and improves system efficiency. The device has digitally programmable and pin selectable output voltage of 0.8V to 1.8V. These tri-state inputs are good for either “set and forget” or “on-the-fly” systems and have Digital Output Margining of ±1%, ±3%, or ±5%. The Flexible, tri-state inputs allow users to adjust system output voltage, which is good for system debugging. The Tracking controller is helpful in post-regulating switcher applications, providing controlled power dissipation, improved efficiency and higher system integration. The IC’s outputs may be paralleled, to provide up to 10A of output current with good current matching per output.
