A new device, the LT3070, overcomes these problems, and provides a cleaner supply for these digital ICs. It's a digitally programmable, 5A low-dropout linear regulator (LDO) with ultra-fast transient response and low noise performance. Its MOS-based architecture allows for an ultra-low dropout of only 85mV at full load, with no variation in ground pin current as input or output voltage changes. Output voltage noise is only 25µVRMS across a wide bandwidth of 10Hz to 100kHz, with high PSRR.
