The LT3070’s key technical features are: output current of 5A, dropout voltage of 85mV typical, digitally programmable VOUT of 0.8V to 1.8V in 50mV steps, digital output margining of ±1%, ±3% or ±5%, ±1% accuracy over line, load and temperature (initial = 0.2%), and a low output noise of 25μVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth. The devices can be placed in a parallel configuration which allows the user to configure two for a 10A output. The IC is stable with low ESR ceramic output capacitors (15μF Min), saving cost and PCB space. In addition, the VIOC pin controls an upstream buck converter to maintain low power dissipation and optimize efficiency. The LT3070 is offered in a 28-lead 4mm x 5mm QFN package.
