Similar to PowerNavigator monitor view, the user interface that comes with the evaluation kits displays the DPM parameters as well as selectable ADC timing and averaging. Control of all the other configurable registers is available from the device drop down menu. The software does support the use of multiple DPMs at one time, but does not support other digital power devices. The evaluation board interface also detects when a daughter card with an on-board application is present, and automatically displays controls and parameters for the additional circuitry. Shown here in the ISL85415 buck regulator application, the software provides a calculation of efficiency for the system, and allows control of the switching frequency and resistive load. Thus, it is possible to observe the changes in efficiency when tweaking these values.
