Communication from the host to the microprocessor is done via PS/2 and uses the PS/2 standard. It is compatible with any PS/2 host, and will attach as a standard 2 button mouse, or as a 3 button scroll mouse. The microprocessor reports data to the host at a rate of 50 reports/sec, regardless of the host attempts to change the report rate. The data packet chip is organized as shown here.
