Switches are used in many crane and boom applications to detect the stowed or extended position of the boom and the outriggers. They send a signal to the control panel that indicates if they are in a deployed position. The signal controls the power to the equipment, slowing it down or not allowing it to move. One to two switches are used in the outrigger, two or three switches per boom and one to two switches per any moving feature. These applications require a robust product that performs well in challenging environments. The NEMA 1, 4, 12, 13 and IP67 seal ratings and -40°C low temperature rating allows the NGC to perform well in these environments.
