Cree’s new XP2 LEDs can protect the customers XP designs. The customer can use the XP-E2 to obtain the same performance as the original XP-G at a lower price. One has the option of upgrading to the XP-G2 to get a better performance. In both cases there is minimal redesign because both products share the same XP footprint and are compatible with existing XP optics. The XP-E2 and XP-G2 are LM-80 successors of original XP-E and XP-G. With the successor status, one can accelerate the qualification of luminaires using just 3000 hours of LM-80 data, instead of the normal 6000 hours. XP-G2 and XP-E2 LEDs are built on Cree’s advanced SC Cubed technology platform.
