In addition to motor drives used in factory automation, there are many other applications. Machine tools and pumps are just two examples. As mentioned in the previous slide, MOSFET / IGBT and IPM couplers are used to isolate the control circuit from the high-power motor circuit. Isolation amplifiers are used in the feedback loop of a motor to the control circuit.
