Characteristics (cont'd.)

Ferrite and powder core inductors perform much differently under DC current at different temperature levels. At 125°C, the inductance of a ferrite core inductor can decrease dramatically from 25°C under the same level of DC current. However, temperature variation has little effect on the inductance of a powder core inductor. DC current handling capability or energy storage capacity of SRP series inductors remains high at elevated temperatures.
