Unlike the quick inductance drop-off of ferrite core inductors at elevated DC current, the SRP series powder core inductor is developed with a distributed air-gap property which can maintain a soft inductance roll-off as DC current is raising, as demonstrated from the inductance versus DC current plot shown here. Due to the high saturation flux density characteristic of the powder core, the SRP inductor series is capable of retaining higher inductance at a higher DC current level.
