The SRP series flat wire coil is concentrically-molded with iron powder to form a magnetic shield. Unlike the conventional round wire coil which wastes space between windings, the iron powder compound fills in the gaps between windings, which on the SRP series construction, maximizes the inductance and current carrying capacity in a compact size.
