With the Microchip ECC508A Crypto co-processor, users are now able to provide multiples levels of security. On the application layer, ECDSA is available to verify the device identity or provide secure boot and secure update. On the transport layer, there are both ECDSA for authentication as well as ECDH. This allows the user to establish a session to encrypt the data that is transmitted between client and server or device and service. Finally, it also has secure storage enabling the user to store secure keys as well as passwords, SSIDS, and other link layer access credentials.
