Obtaining a USB certification can be a tedious and cumbersome task. In order to help customers, Microchip has certified the USB enabled XMEGA devices and made the fully compliant USB software stack available in AVR Studio 5. This eliminates much of the complexity related to the many requirements in the USB specification. Developers building applications using the software stack and the AVR XMEGA MCU can be virtually certain that their application will get a USB certificate once they apply for one. The AVR XMEGA with USB will be available in 16 different configurations. The size of the Flash memory will range from 16 KBytes to 256 KBytes. The available package types are: TQFP44, QFN44, VFBGA49, TQFP64, and QFN64.
