Microchip provides a large number of USB examples with AVR Studio® 5, all free of charge. These examples comprise software example code of the most common components or services used in USB applications. They include bootloader, human interface, mass storage, communication, USB composite cevice and personal healthcare service. All available examples are compliant with relevant requirements in the USB specification. In addition to the software examples, Microchip also provides a hardware kit. The Microchip  AVR XMEGA A3BU Xplained kit acts as a starting point for developers wanting to test and work with the examples provided in AVR Studio 5. The Xplained board is equipped with a temperature and light sensor, a display, a mini USB connector type B, a JTAG port, three mechanical buttons and one Atmel QTouch® button.
