The Standby setting is a temperature preset value to which a soldering tool is adjusted when not in use. Setting the Standby temperature to a low value will extend the lifetime of the tips and tools. To access the Standby menu, press the menu button once. Adjust the standby temperature by pressing the up or down arrow keys. The user can set the standby temperature between 200 and 600°F (100-300°C). The user can also turn the feature off so that the soldering tool does not adjust when not in use. The factory setting is 360°F (180°C). Press the Exit button to return to the main menu, and the standby temperature is saved. Pressing the menu button twice will get the user to the Standby time setting, using the up and down arrow keys to adjust and then pressing the exit button to return to normal operation.
