The previous slides demonstrated the spectral performance of the map given D and P. They revealed that D is the primary driver of spur magnitude, but that P does have a residual impact, as well. This leads to the question: Given a DDS designed with a D-bit DAC, is there a practical limitation for P? That is, is there a point at which increasing P relative to D leads to diminishing returns? The answer is: Yes.
