Another area of concern is 1/f noise. At higher frequencies, noise may be thought of as being evenly distributed, or white. But at very low frequencies the noise density increases. Most op amps will have a plot similar to this in their datasheet to show how the noise density rises as the frequency falls. Many op amps will specify the voltage or current noise from 0.1Hz to 10Hz or the corner frequency. The intersection of the dashed lines is the corner frequency of the op amp’s noise. When working with low frequency signals the effect of the 1/f noise over a limited area of the curve can be calculated by multiplying 6.6 by the RMS value.
