Settling time is another important specification when looking at high speed op amps. Settling time, as shown in this picture, is how quickly the op amp can move to a new output level and be accurate. Settling time depends on two factors; the step size (change in output voltage) and the error band as shown in the slide. Most op amps are specified with their settling time based on a 0.1% error band, which is around 10 bits of accuracy.
