The 2.2-5 connector series was conceived and designed for applications such as small cells, MIMO, and DAS, which are calling for a technically smaller footprint connector. More flexibility is now possible for antenna design due to the smaller form factor of the 2.2-5 interface, with its higher frequency and higher data rates. Other applications include low-power base stations, in-building architecture, compact mobile radio applications, and test and measurement. This is just a small sampling of popular applications. There are numerous other applications which require PIM stability and a compact size which would also be ideal for the 2.2-5 series.
