Your Amazon Delivery May One Day Understand You
Amazon was granted a patent in March 2018 that will allow their delivery drones to recognize human movement and speech. What does that mean for us? It means that rather than having to contact Amazon directly to report customer service issues, people will be able to communicate directly with their delivery drone. Package late? Mangled? Is the drone bothering your dog? Whatever the case may be, you’ll be able to issue your complaint verbally, or with movement or gestures, right to your drone!
The online-shopping giant wants to shave delivery times down to just 30 minutes and plans to take to the sky to achieve it. Awarded on Tuesday (March 20), the patent would allow for drones to identify gestures such as a thumbs-up, frantic waving, shaking fists, and a shooing motion.
