The 200 W rack-mounted chiller is compact and only takes up 4U of rack height. The 200 W naming comes from the capacity of the air-cooled system at 25°C ambient and 25°C fluid set-point temperature. Just as in the compressor-based stand-alone chillers, the cooling capacity decreases with higher ambient temperatures and lower circulating fluid temperatures. This 200 W system can deliver up to 600 W of cooling depending on the application environment. So, the same attention to detail must be taken for sizing the chiller appropriately for the application. Heating capacity shows the opposite trends – it increases with increasing ambient temperatures and at lower recirculating fluid temperatures. Although the unit is compact, the pump capacity is very similar to the stand-alone chillers with similar behavior of lower pump pressure at higher flow rates.
