Target applications for the XClampR® TVS include automotive applications. XClampR TVS and conventional TVS in serial connection make stable breakdown and clamping voltages in a wide operating temperature range. Also, this combination makes various clamping voltages which customers require for 12 V and 24 V centralized load dump suppressed powertrains and 48 V powertrains. For 12 V powertrain, ISO16750-2 pulse B is specified US* fixed as 35 V, but some customers require 37 V or 39 V as well as different temperature conditions. The 24 V powertrain is similar; ISO16750-2 pulse B for 24 V powertrain specified US* fixed as 58 V, but some also require 60 V or 65 V. The withstand voltage or jumper-start condition are varied as 48 V and ISO16750-2 specified 36 V. The 48 V is still not fixed standard, and is tentatively applied 50 through 70 V of stand-off voltage. By these various requirements, an XClampR TVS and conventional TVS combination can meet with high stabilities.
