LED Driver Overview Slide 11

Another issue that must be considered when choosing an LED Driver is power factor. The power factor is the ratio between the real power flowing to the load (Watts) and the apparent power (Volt-Amps) in the circuit. Power factor affects the number of fixtures that can be loaded on a branch circuit. LED drivers from Thomas Research Products all feature active power factor correction to reduce current draw and increase efficiency.
