Power Factor Correction Slide 5

This circuit shows a common continuous conduction mode power factor correction scheme for higher power levels. Two PFC stages are placed in parallel to deliver higher power and is better from a thermal management perspective as the power handling is spread over two stages over a wider area of the PCB. In a parallel configuration, the higher input and output ripple currents are the result of the addition of the two stages as expected.
