Power Factor Correction Slide 10

This graph shows the normalized ripple current reduction as a function of duty cycle and also the effects of ripple current reduction with an increase in phases, from 2 to 4. In the two phase curve, when the duty cycle is at 50%, the best case of 100% ripple current cancellation can be expected. However, since duty cycle is directly related to input voltage, cancellation percentage will depend on the input voltage and vary according to the duty cycle at that voltage. However, a 50% reduction can be assured for normal universal input voltage ranges. The dotted line curves show the results for additional phases, in which each phase is equally spaced.
