Texas Instruments has developed five reference designs that can be adapted as solutions for the various applications previously discussed. As can be seen here, these reference designs cover a good part of the power output range that would apply to most LED lighting applications. Also, these solutions can all be scaled to other power levels with a few changes to the power train components and some passive component value changes. The current output can also be changed as well. With just a few minor changes, any specific design that looks like it would support an application but at a different LED current should provide the solution. All of these reference designs are AC input with some being wall dimmer or triac dimmable, some having power factor correction, and one that supports multiple string applications.
