PandaBoard Overview Slide 4
PandaBoard can be used in various usage scenarios. Top left, PandaBoard acts as a standalone desktop computer running Ubuntu—a popular Linux-based distribution that is fully supported by PandaBoard out-of-the-box. A USB keyboard and mouse as well as a DVI-D monitor are connected. Network connectivity is provided by the built-in Wi-Fi. Top right, PandaBoard is configured as a mobile code development platform. The board is connected to a desktop PC. The developer can ssh/telnet into PandaBoard via the built-in Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet connectivity. PandaBoard's serial port provides debug output from the application it is debugging. Bottom center, the system demonstrates flexible expansion via USB. A USB touchscreen is connected to a PandaBoard enabling the developer to build touch and finger-friendly applications. This demo is running the Android operating system, another fully supported out-of-the-box distribution. PandaBoard's custom expansion headers enable access to additional I²C, USB, MMC, GPMC, DSS signals, increasing the range of custom expansion boards and peripherals that can enhance development.
