Several features make PandaBoard a compelling mobile development platform. First, PandaBoard is powered by TI’s OMAP4430 processor. The OMAP4430 processor is built on the dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore running at 1 GHz each. Also enabled by OMAP technology is 1080p multi-standard HD video capabilities and an OpenGL® ES v2.0 graphics engine. PandaBoard comes equipped with 1 GB low power DDR2 RAM and a full size SD/MMC card cage with support for high capacity cards. The extensive RAM provides plenty of memory for a customer’s development needs while also supporting native development of popular Linux distributions, for example, using PandaBoard as a desktop PC. PandaBoard's built-in Wi-Fi®/Bluetooth® enables out-of-the-box wireless capabilities for applications running on the board. A 10/100 Ethernet port is also standard.
