The engineer can compare these controllers using a disturbance rejection test. The engineer used PI and ADRC to control the same motor and ran the motor at 50% of the rated speed an torque. Then introduced a pulse disturbance through a dynamometer and measured the response. The engineer found that PI had a greater error and a longer settling time, not only for this test, but for most of the tests that were conducted.
