On this slide, the road map of the early C24x platform is shown. The first device, the TMS320F240, being released in 1997 was a 5 V, 20 MHz platform. This was followed by a series of three other 5 V parts; the flash based F243 and F241, and the ROM based C242. These devices featured modified peripherals and a CAN communications port. The LF240x series was released in 2000. These parts used 3.3 V technology enabling core speeds up to 30 MHz, while a second series, the LF240xA increased the CPU clock speed to 40 MHz and introduced a code security module, allowing users to password protect the contents of internal flash memory.
