Let's take a look at the frequency versus attenuation on the Belden cable, 8281.  Two general rules of thumb are: As cable length increases, attenuation (in decibels or dB) also increases linearly.  The number of the decibels increases with square root of frequency (in MHz).  Note the standard formula for calculating cable losses over frequency.
