Many of Tensility’s cables carry ratings or statements of compliance. These ratings are often required to ensure that the product can pass flammability tests, or do not contain certain hazardous materials. These ratings typically define the maximum temperature, voltage and current that a cable should be subjected to. In addition they often have a flammability rating which states how resistant to fire a cable will be. RoHS is a very common requirement and states that a product does not contain over a certain percentage of six harmful substances in electronic products. REACH is similar to RoHS, but restricts a much larger number of substances in many categories of products. CE is a mark frequently required in Europe that ensures that the product conforms to certain health, safety and environment protection laws.
