Non-silicone gap fillers are also used to fill gaps from approximately 0.1 – 1 mm in thickness. They are generally used in applications where the presence of silicone oils could be detrimental to device performance. Examples of some such applications are in optical systems, automotive electronics, and certain LED applications. These materials function to replace air in the gap and provide a low thermal resistance path for heat flow. Generally they should be used under a compression of between 25 – 40% based on the original thickness. T-Global offers the PC93 range of non-silicone gap filler.
