If it is likely that the joint will need reworking in the future, it is essential to select a TIM compatible with this requirement. Typically, gap fillers are easier to rework than PCMs or greases. It is generally advised that PCM or grease materials be replaced after a rework to ensure the best long term functionality and device life time. As an added note, PCMs are best removed when slightly warm.
