Non-silicone based materials  are used for critical applications where the out-gassing of silicone could be an issue. This includes electronics which use optical devices, products with hard-drives, and certain critical automotive devices. These materials are generally harder and have a lower working temperature than silicone based products. This is one small inherent limitation of the product.
