The high heat conductivity adhesive that adheres the resistive element to the alumina is also the key to the heat dissipation of KRL, which is shown here. When a conventional current sensor was tested under the same condition, the peak temperature reached was 165˚C, termination temperature and PCB temperatures were 107˚C and 75˚C respectively. Thermal resistivity was 57˚C/W, which is significantly higher than KRL’s 19˚C/W.
