KRL Series Slide 4

In conventional current sensing resistors, a relatively small resistive element generates significant amount of heat which conducts through alumina substrate and land pattern and reach to the PC board, which could cause heat damage to the PC board as well as the resistive elements themselves may go through irreversible change due to its own heat. In KRL, the large resistive elements and the alumina over it evenly distribute the heat without creating a hot spot causing no damage to resistive material or the PC board. In addition, the alumina helps the generated heat move up and radiate out into the ambient air.
