Load transient response is the ability of the regulator to react to sudden variations in the load. A step change of the load current will cause an undershoot in the output voltage due to the response time of the feedback loop. In the same way, when the load decreases the delay in the loop response produces an overshoot. This is inherent behavior in any voltage regulator. In some applications the undershoot can be particularly problematic because, for example, it could trip a voltage monitor and reset the µC being powered.
