Magnet Technology and Their Uses Slide 23

Not only is magnetism available in nature and available via man-made magnetic compounds, but it can also be generated via an electromagnet. This is generated by winding copper into a cylinder and passing a current through the wire. A uniform magnetic field is generated in the center of the cylindrical coil. The stronger the current is, the stronger the magnetic field will be.
