The resistive element of the RNV features a nitride metal film element. Nitride metal films are proven to be corrosion and abrasion resistant, and can withstand higher temperatures much better than standard metal film technology. In addition, the coating is an upgraded non-flammable resin which is critical for resistors that need to survive high voltage surge events.
