Mechanical dial gauges have traditionally been used to measure and locally display critical process pressure parameters. Two common mechanical gauges have bourdon tubes and bellows gauges, which both use pressure sensing elements that flex substantially. Mechanical linkages from the sensing element allow the needle to move to indicate the pressure on the dial.
