SiTime’s MEMS oscillators are designed to be pin compatible with quartz crystals so they can interface directly to the crystal inputs on a MCU, SOC or PMIC. NanoDrive is a factory programmable feature where the swing between the VOH (voltage output high) and the VOL (voltage output low) level can be programmed to as low as 300 mV. In battery powered wearable applications, the MCUs and SoCs can run on either rail-to-rail full LVCMOS swing voltage or on a reduced swing voltage. By reducing the voltage swing, the power consumption can be minimized to achieve increased power savings over standard oscillators running at full LVCMOS. SiTime’s MEMS-based SiT15xx devices with NanoDrive are specifically designed to connect directly to the XTAL input of the low power MCU or PMIC and replace quartz crystals.
