The CP2130 is a highly-integrated USB-to-SPI bridge that provides a simple solution for communicating to SPI slave devices through a USB interface. This device supports crystal-less operation, eliminating the cost of an external crystal, and contains an integrated voltage regulator, eliminating the need for an external regulator and reducing BOM costs. In addition, the in-system programming memory can be used to eliminate external memories or complex circuits to generate programming signals. The on-chip programmable memory is used to store customizable data that controls USB descriptors as well as GPIO configurations and special functions. All of this functionality is packed into a small 4mm x 4mm QFN package which reduces PCB space and enables extremely portable solutions. This is extremely important for space-constrained applications.
